The Supreme Court of India is reportedly monitoring the investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak case. On Friday, the court questioned the National Testing Agency (NTA) over the alleged breach and sought detailed responses regarding the incident, despite ongoing reforms aimed at preventing such examination irregularities. A bench comprising Justice P.S. Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe observed that stronger accountability mechanisms are essential to ensure that such incidents do not recur. The court also directed the Ministry of Education to submit a detailed report outlining the steps being taken to safeguard the integrity of national examinations. During the hearing, stakeholders also presented suggestions, including the possibility of shifting NEET-UG to a fully computer-based examination system as a potential reform measure. The Supreme Court has emphasized that ensuring transparency and accountability in national-level examinations will remain central as the matter continues.
