Bengaluru | Karnataka: Vinay Jagadish, an IT professional, suffered injuries after falling on the road due to an uncovered pothole near Hoodi Main Road, close to the metro station, while returning home after completing his night shift. The incident has ignited widespread anger after Vinay posted a video on Instagram, criticising the quality of civic work carried out by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). In his post, Vinay wrote: "BBMP is the new Yamaraja Leaving incomplete work without any cover. Who the hell takes responsibility for these kind of pathetic job. Please share this with others so it reaches till government. 📍Hoodi metro station" The video quickly went viral, with many viewers expressing frustration over the state of Bengaluru’s roads and the recurring issue of incomplete civic projects. Social media users echoed Vinay’s anger, highlighting how poor road conditions not only inconvenience commuters but also pose serious risks to the safety of residents — especially those working late hours. Local citizens and netizens have criticised both the BBMP and the government for failing to address long-standing road infrastructure problems, despite repeated complaints. Many have called for stricter accountability measures and urgent repairs, warning that neglecting such hazards could lead to more accidents and potentially fatal consequences. The incident has once again put the spotlight on Bengaluru’s crumbling road infrastructure, with demands growing for immediate action and long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes.
