National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Moideenkutty P, key coordinator for the Popular Front of India (PFI)

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), on February 18, 2026, arrested Moideenkutty P regarding the case involving the Popular Front of India (PFI). Moideenkutty was involved in the PFI case for the past three years. Moideenkutty was a resident of Kattipparuthi, Valancheri, Malappuram District, Kerala. He is now currently in custody by an NIA team. He was missing after a case was registered against him in 2022. Moideenkutty was caught immediately when he arrived from the UAE at the Cochin International Airport. The main case for which Moideenkutty P was arrested is known as the Kerala PFI Radicalization and Arms Training Case (specifically case RC-02/2022/NIA/KOC), which was registered in September 2022. This case centers on a wide-ranging criminal conspiracy involving the now-banned Popular Front of India (PFI) and its leadership. The NIA alleges the conspiracy aimed to spread "violent jihad" to eventually establish Islamic Rule in India by 2047. He was a key coordinator of the PFI. All details about the arrest, background of the accused along with allegations and investigation details related to the case are mentioned by publishing notice officially by NIA on X account. PFI was banned by the Indian Government because many anti-national and terrorist activities were going on that were against laws. According to the NIA investigation, the PFI used to train youth and handled many weapons and raised funds for the acts of terror and violence. This was done with the objective of establishing "Islamic Rule in India by 2047."
