Big momentum is observed today for India. Make in India officially posted evidence and showed that India has solidified its position as Asia’s third-largest chemicals producer. This image shows that a massive 58,617 thousand tonnes of major chemicals and petrochemicals production in the financial year 2025 is observed in India. This is not just a number rather this is showing as an industrial muscle. Agile supply chains are becoming the backbone of the manufacturing industry and India is strengthening itself as a preferred global manufacturing destination. The numerical evidence witnessed a clear message that India is competing at scale not only just participating and contributing in the global industry. The chemical sector is emerging in popularity as a key growth driver and successfully attracting investors and reinforcing Indian economic resilience from broader vision of industrial expansion. In 2023, the Statista Report showed that India is showing immense economic confidence and national strength by producing almost 31.1. million metric tons of basic major chemicals and petrochemicals across India. This figure literally feels like it deeply communicates that India is a serious industrial power. India is not depending on any one specific product rather the country is highly versatile and expanding. The Statista Report therefore shows that there was industrial progress and investor confidence observing since the year 2023 which is perfectly reflecting the progress evident in 2025. Apart from the above lens, India is successfully competing for market share as global firms diversify away from China. Over China the U.S. executives are now three times more looking to select India for future supply chain needs. By this situation, Jagat Prakash Nadda (Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers) pointed out that the industry is projected to reach almost the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers. Therefore, this expected growth is deeply aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.
