India and US trade will not change have been confirmed by US President Donald Trump. Recently, the Supreme Court of the United States struck down his broader tariff policy. But, his statement witnessed confidence and firmness and pointed stability in the bilateral relationship among the two countries. The Supreme Court delivered a 6-3 ruling (means: six judges in support, three against) that was officially cancelled by the court on February 20, 2026, Trump's “reciprocal tariffs” (matching import taxes on countries). Under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) (law allowing emergency economic control during crises) these tariffs have been further imposed. Apart from this, the Court warned that the President had exceeded his authority under the law. But, President Trump reacted decisively and quickly in this matter.
