Airfares Skyrocket! IndiGo Slaps Massive ₹2,300 Fuel Surcharge as Middle East War Cripples Aviation Costs

Fuel surcharge will be reintroduced by IndiGo from March 14, 2026 of up to ₹2,300 per sector on domestic and international flights. This is due to soaring aviation turbine fuel prices caused by the conflict in West Asia. IndiGo holds, 60% market share will apply tiered levies based on flight distance to offset rising operational costs as global crude prices exceed $100 per barrel. This will cause widespread airfare increase.
